To-do list for a Fun Summer in Madrid
During this time of the year, people start leaving for vacation and Madrid starts to get a little bit empty. That doesn’t mean that there is nothing to do in the city. If you are planning to visit Madrid this summer, there are a lot of cultural and interesting activities for you to do, including music concerts, the theatre, cinema, and of course museums!
For a complete listing of things to do in Madrid, check out this great site: esmadrid.com.
My recommendations for must-do things in Madrid this summer:
If you are an art lover, visit the Prado Museum. There is currently an outstanding exhibition of the work of Valencian artist Joaquín Sorolla that includes more than 100 of his paintings. The exhibition will be there until September 6th, so take advantage of it!

For true Spanish night-life, you must go to La Latina, a neighbourhood in the centre of the city, that has been around for more than 400 years. Along Cava Baja street, there are a lot of tapas bars with cute terraces that are just perfect for the summertime.
Some of my very favourite bars are: La Camarilla, Taberna Los Huevos de Lucio (where you can taste the famous “huevos rotos”), El Viajero, Bonano, and La Musa. For the best mojitos in Madrid, you can’t miss Delic (and while you’re there, indulge in their delicious desserts!).

I hope you have a chance to go and enjoy my favourites. If you do, take pictures!

Thanks James! I just got back!! The Feria amazing and the weather nice, so it was perfect! The cocktail recipe sounds great to me but there are a couple more mouth-watering too!! Can´t wait to try them!!
Thanks and see you on Thursday, tomorrow I´m fliying to your country!!
What an awesome blog!
I love Delic! Also, while you’re there, the restaurant next door (La Musa Latina) is also DELICIOUS. We recommend the vegetable tempura and the woks.
At the moment, there is also a cool Turner exhibit on at the Prado that’s worth the trip.
Great blog, keep up the good work.

Thanks Cholé! La Musa was one of my favorite some years ago… Then they closed for some time, and I hadn´t been since then. Next time I go to La Latina I´ll go to La Musa to check it out!!
