Carmen. One Passionate Spanish Woman.

Last night I was very lucky to be invited to a Sara Baras show. She is a very well known flamenco dancer in Spain, and in fact, to me, she is the best. Here is what The Independent says about her: “When God was handing out talents, he must have tripped when he reached Sara Baras […]

Weekend Plans

I’m talking with my friends about what to do this weekend… The weather has started getting hot already, so we want to go somewhere refreshing… But where??  We live in Madrid, which is a great city, but there just aren’t many places to escape the heat. Lucky for us there is a modern hotel in the […]

Once Upon a Time a Chef…

El Bulli has been awarded, several times, the title of the “Best Restaurant in the world” by The Restaurant Magazine. After my visit, I really understood why. Ferran Adria is not only a Chef, but an alchemist!! Here is a video of Chef Adria making spheric olives (they are so good!), with food writer Mark Bittman and Chef Jose Andrés, a disciple of Adria who has successufully opened several restaurants in USA.

Spanish Flavour @ Regent Street

I was recently in London and had quite a Spanish experience walking along Regent Street. From Picadilly to Oxford Circus, there are many Spanish stores bringing Spanish flavour to the fashion of the city. Some of the stores I saw were Mango, Zara, followed by Massimo Dutti (a Barcelona-based clothing chain with an oddly Italian […]

Take Away Raclette

While in London, I was so excited to visit the Borough Market, a very nice market where you can buy delicious food to take home to cook, or just walk around and taste many of the products made in each stall. I love cheese, so one of my favourite moments was watching a raclette being made in a stall, ready to take away.

London Wine Fair

Last week I was in London for The Wine Trade Fair, a great wine festival with wines from all over the world. The UK is a trend maker market, so there was a lot of cool stuff, interesting packagings, labels, capsules and even new formats for wine.

Puro Madrileño

As strange as it may be, one of Madrid’s greatest restaurants and one of my favourites, is in Bernabéu Stadium. That’s right, the soccer stadium. El Asador de la Esquina is pure Madrid, with typical Castilla dishes and amazing grilled meats and fish. I was there the other day and loved the view of the […]

Love at first sight

This week, Norman won Spain’s Principe de Asturias arts prize, Spain’s highest recognition in the art world, adding to the many prizes he already has. I think he is a genius and really deserves it.

Kids at the Sherry

I was reading through different blogs and I ran into one called Notes from Spain. I was very happy when I saw the picture that won their NFS’s Flickr Photo of the Month contest for April.

Tempra Tantrum Label Press Check

Last week, we did a press check for the Tempra Tantrum labels. The colours looked great! It was so exciting to match and adjust the colours and see how they look printed on the labels… We did many proofs until we got the perfect colour!

Welcome!

Hi, all! Rocío Osborne here, welcome to my blog. I’m the sixth generation to be involved in my family’s wine business which started back in 1772. I am the vintner for a new wine called Tempra Tantrum. My goal is to shake things up and create something really new and different, a touch of heritage but nothing traditional.
